OVERVIEW :

Kicker Rock -or León Dormido in Spanish- islet is located on northeast of Puerto Baquerizo Moreno, it is a remnant of a vertical tuff cone formation, rising almost 153 m (500ft) from the shore. The erosion has given the Kicker Rock its characteristic peculiar shape which our guests see as shoe. Other adventurers see it as a sleeping sea lion. Is an ideal place for snorkelers, so edging around the rock swimmers can be amazed easily by hammerhead sharks, sea turtles, marine iguanas, rays, Galápagos sharks, and tropical fish. The view is also one to remember. The walls are connected below the surface thought a 60 ft deep channel running between them. On a good day, snorkelers can see the sandy-looking bottom of the channel formed by the two towering Kicker Rock walls. Also, islet is place of the several marine birds as well as blue-footed boobies, masked boobies, frigatebirds, and Nazca boobies sit and posing on the cliffs. In summary, it is common to see joyful sea lions and colonies of hammerheads surrounding the rock making magic this place.

Then, our adventurers will take a pleasant journey to the Kicker Rock (León Dormido), they are going to be ride by comfortable speed boat with the first spot at the Baquerizo Moreno Dock, early in the morning. All of the travelers are going to be by the hand of our naturalist/guide, who will assist excursionists whole the time. The Kicker Rock islet is called León Dormido (sleeping lion) by the local because its immobility on the eternity, at the Kicker Rock adventurers are able to enjoy observing frigate birds, Nazca Boobies, blue footed boobies, and tropic birds. Immediately our guests will start to swim next to the unique sea wildlife, which is going to be an exclusive life experience at the last paradise. Swimming and snorkeling excursionist can find to most peculiar hammerhead sharks, sea lions, reef fish, rays, green turtles, and much more. So, they will appreciate from the bottom of the turquoise wildlife until the uphill of the endemic animal’s heaven. Then travelers will taste succulent lunch aboard. After finishing sleeping lion excursion, adventurers are going to the beach where they can walk in search of coastal birds and the rest of the Galápagos wildlife, or they can just relax. And, our guests are coming back to Puerto Baquerizo Moreno by comfortable speed boat. It is recommended to wear a wetsuit in order to neutralize the sea temperature because it falls under 20ºC from September to December and it is up of 27ºC from January to August.
